The "Wile E. Coyote"
Our boat, the "Wile E Coyote" though registered as 33'3" actually runs 35'0" length overall. This is a custom built center console, built by famous surf board designer "Bill Holmes", who's claim to fame in the surfing industry is the "sidewinder" surfboard.
I purchased the boat in the fall of 2008 and proceeded to do a complete refit of it, down to the wiring and plumbing. Every item of the boat was gone thru, and new wiring, plumbing, pumps, switches, lights, hardware, etc., were replaced. Additionally the boat was refinished with Alwgrip marine paint topside, and a full boat wrap featuring an animated scene from nature of the Desert Roadrunner ( Geococcyx Californanus) being chased by a Coyote (Canis latrans), set to a fishing theme that combines the the 'good ole' southern expression of 'This Dog Can Hunt', with what we do when in search of Big Game Pelagic fish......Chase Birds!!!! In addition to the mentioned changes to the boat, an extended console was implemented to allow for a stand up head, complete with flushing china bowl. New seating, and structure was added. New rod holders, outriggers, and down riggers were added. New hydraulic steering, and new fuel tanks were installed. The electronics added to the boat are really a top feature. Furuno NavNet vx2 equipment includes: RADAR, Dual GPS and Chart plotter, Dual VHF w/dsc, dual 12" LCD monitors with remote keyboards, 1kw high speed sonar.
We also carry a handheld VHF and GPS locator for additional safety. The boat features a large hardtop with enclosure curtains. USCG - UPV charter boat safety gear is always aboard, and we have had our boat inspected to ensure compliance. A pair of 250 HP Yamaha ox66sw2 motors powers the boat, and allows us to comfortably cruise at 40 mph in fair sea's, due to the boats Balsa, Foam and Glass lightweight, yet strong construction.
